      A318 is a twin engine , typical two-classes cabin layout with 107 passenger seats, single aisle, the range of up to 2800 nautical miles ,power by CFM56-5 or PW6000 engines. Airbus launched in April 26,1999 and offer to customer for a service entry in 2002. Airbus see that today , airlines need families of aircraft which have ability to switch between aircraft of different sizes,on a per flight basis, to optimize load factor,common pool of pilots,cabin crew and maintenance personnel.
      A 318 features a vertical stabilizer that is nearly 30 inches taller than the other aircraft in the single-aisle family. The aircraft's stabilizer stringers were not riveted to parts of the fuselage but weled by laser beam , a process that will be used on the A380 as well.
      Airbus A320 families consist of A318 carry 107 passengers, A319 carry 124 passengers, A320 carry 150 passengers and A321 carry 185 passengers (all of them in a typical two-class cabin lay out).Air france is the launch customer for the A318 and also was the launched customer for A320 in 1981. Egyptair will take A318 in late 2002 and Air france will take delivery in spring of 2003 due to Air france use CFM engine which Air france requested later. The price of this A318 is approximately 35.8 to 38.5 million US. dollars.
