| The C919, China's first domestically designed and built large airliner by the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac). China joins the ranks of the few nations that have developed homegrown large airliners: the U.S., Russia, Brazil, Canada, the U.K., France and Germany. The airplane is roughly the same size as Airbus's A320 and Boeing's 737-800. Dimensions of the C919 are very similar to the Airbus A320 .
It is a short-medium range commercial liner , Its all-economy class layout are 168 seats and the hybrid class layout 158 seats. The C919 was initially launched in 2008 and its first flight was on may 5 , 2017, with the first delivery will be to launch customer China Eastern Airlines. C 919 model be equipped with CFM LEAP-1C engines.The plane also relies on an array of overseas technology include Honeywell International Inc , United Technologies Corp , Rockwell Collins Inc and a unit of Parker-Hannifin Corp. It still has a long way to go before it's carrying passengers and competing with its U.S. and European competitors. . | ||
