| Eclipse 500 is a six-place, twin-turbofan engine aircraft that cost only 837,500 US.dollars(in June 2000).
The Eclipse 500 is manufactured by Eclipse Aviation Corporation located in Albuquerque, New Mexico at Sunport International Airport. .
Eclipse Aviation is in the business of designing, certifying and producing modern, affordable jet aircraft . Eclipse Aviation said that

to move directly between cities on a quick, affordable and convenient basis. The Eclipse 500 jet aircraft that sells for only 837,500 US.dollars (in June 2000). At this price, it costs approximately a quarter of today's small jet aircraft and less expensive to fly. The company said that the Eclipse 500 flies 355 knots and can travel 1,300 nautical miles ( about the distance between Boston and Miami ) at a cost of approximately 56 cents a mile to operate. The Eclipse 500 is constructed principally of aircraft aluminum alloy. The Eclipse 500 jet is powered by the super compact EJ22 which designed and manufactured by Williams International. The EJ22 engine is a version of the FJX-2 engine which Williams demonstrated cost sharing program with NASA, as part of NASA's General Aviation Propulsion (GAP ) program. The engine weight only approximately 85 lbs , and delivery over 770 lbs of thrust. Landing Gear; The nose landing gear consists of a single wheel, retracts forward into the nose and is enclosed by door. The main gear is mounted in the wings. It retracts inwards and is enclosed by the door. Avio is a comprehensive avionics and aircraft systems management package. Avio is available exclusively on the Eclipse 500, as standard equipment. Avio's system management provides electronic control of the major systems on the aircraft , including Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC), flight management system, communications. The glass cockpit features two primary flight displays (PFDs) and one multi-function display (MFD). Due to some reason , The engine will be changed to Pratt & Whitney Canada PW610F which will be available in late 2004. The first flight of Eclipse 500 was on August 26, 2006 in Albuquerque New Mexico. First customer deliveries of the Eclipse 500 are scheduled to occur at the end of 2007. Aviace, Swiss wants 112 planes for a network of air-taxi operations around Europe. FAA certification was officially granted to the Eclipse 500 on July 2006 | ||
