The F-15 Eagle is a multirole fighter has a perfect air combat record of 100% victories and zero losses (01 aug 2000). F-15 was in air combat during operation Desert Storm and the Balkan conflict. In desert storm, the F-15E effective flying at night and in bad weather to attack numerous mobile Scud missle launchers and other high value military and ground target.
The Lockheed Martin LANTIRN (Low Altitude Navigation and Targeting Infrared for Night) system gives the F-15E the ability to fly at high speed and low altitude at night and in bad weather to strike targets with pinpoint precision. There are approximately 1,150 of F-15 are still in service worldwide. It was McDonnell douglas and now Boeing is manufacturing this aircraft. The combination of two power engines, fixed swept wings, twin tail and moving horizontal tails give this fighter speed of 2.5 mach number. The heat caused by going that fast has forced it to use titanium extensively. The main reason that this aircraft is not as popular as the F-16 is the price.the price of F-15C is approximately 35 million US dollars and F-15E is 42 million US dollars.
