| The Mirage 2000 is a multirole fighter aircraft built by Dassault-Breguet , French air-to-air combat
and air-to-surface attack. The Mirage 2000 is similar to the Mirage III , Mirage 5 (Ground attack version) and Mirage 50
(Upgraded version of Mirage 5) but entirely new with advanced interceptor control. In it secondary ground attack role,
the Mirage 2000 carries laser guided missiles rockets and bombs . The wings are low mounted delta wing . There is one
turbofan engine mounted in the fuselage forward of the wings. There is a large , single exhuast which protrudes past the tail.
The fin is swept back .The Mirage 2000 is differs from its predecessors mainly in its avionics, its new multiple target air- to -ground
and air-to-air firing procedure link to the use of RDY radar. The mirage 2000D or Mirage 2000-5 is a two seaters carries air-to-ground
high precision weapons which can be fired at a safe distance , by day or by night . Its navigation and attack system enable it to
fly in any weather conditions. By the time the mirage was in design, Israeli pilots and engineers were taking part in it's development. Israel needed was an air superiority fighter, a fighter that will combat other fighters. The Mirage III of Israel did obtain more air victories than any other Israel Air Force plane. The Mirage III obtained great success in the 1967 six - days war between Israel and the Arab countries. | ||
