| The Sikorsky UH-60A Black Hawk, first flown in October 1974 ,is a light transport helicopter.
The Black Hawk is the primary transport helicopter, providing dramatic improvements in troop capacity and cargo lift
capability compared to the UH-1 series "Huey" it replaces. Both pilot and Co-pilot are provided with armore protective
seats and also the aircraft's critical components and systems are armored.Protective armor on the Black Hawk can
withstand hits from 23mm shells. The Black Hawk has a cargo hook for external lift missions. The Black Hawk has
provisions for door mounting of two M60D 7.62 mm machine guns. Black Hawk provides the platform for a wide range of derivatives, EH-60 electronic warfare aircraft MH-60K special operation aircraft VH-60 executive transportation helicopter HH-60G Pave Hawk for US air force, Navy call Sea Hawk HH-60J Jay Hawk for US coast guard search and rescue In October 1989, Sikorsky ( now United Technologies Corporation) produced the first UH-60L and can be adapted to the attack mission by attaching weapons pylons to both sides of the fuselage. These can be fitted with Hell Fire missiles or other weapon system. The UH-60L is one of the world most advanced twin-turbine military helicopter.
