The Bell 412 is 15 seats ( 14+1 pilots), Four Bladed version of Bell 212 and the body just like Bell 212. The Bell 412 is power by PT6T-3D twin- turboshaft engine. Output at the transmission is rated at 1370 shp. The different between Bell 212 and Bell 412 is the main rotor Blade and the power used (please also see Bell 212). The Bell 412 first flew in August 1979. Deliveries began in 1981. In 1985 the Bell 412SP (Special Performance) is introduced, an improved version of the four bladed Bell 412. Bell 412SP use PT6T-3B-1 Turbo Twin-Pac engine. In 1991, Bell 412SP is upgraded to Bell 412HP with the addition of a modified transmission for improved performance. Bell 412HP use PT6T-3BE Turbo Twin Pac engine. Bell 412EP (Enhanced Performance) is a highly customized to fullfill utility transport and search and rescue mission as well as to perform special operation missions.
