The EMBRAER REGIONAL JET (ERJ) is manufatured by EMBRAER of Brazil. The EMBRAER was founded in 1969 as a government company and was privatized in 1994. Brazil's investment company holding 60% shares and the leading group of french companies,those are Aerospatial-Matra, Dassault Aviation, Snecma and Thomson-CSF which acquired 20% of shares . Embraer also joint venture with Liebherr International of Germany that will create additional business on landing gear and hydraulic components. The EMBRAER ranks fourth of the largest commercial aicraft manufacturer in the world. The EMBRAER ERJ145 is the 50-seat jet liners. The first delivered of ERJ145 was in December 1996 to Continental Express.         The need of the Regional airlines to have aircraft under 40 seats to serve the thiner routes, the development of EMBRAER ERJ 135 was started in 1997. This aircraft is derivative from ERJ 145. The size of ERJ135 accomdates up to 37 passengers in three-abreast seating configuration like ERJ 145. The first ERJ 135 was delivered in june 1999 .The ERJ135 is the same Cockpit as ERJ 145, same wing and horizontal/ vertical tail, same fuselage but ERJ 135 has 11.6 ft. shorter than ERJ 145. The ERJ 135 has 96% commonality with its larger brother ERJ 145.
