      TUPOLEV TU-154 is a trijet , medium range airliner with three tail mounted engines . TU-154 was the first airliner which matched comparible western types B-727 in size , reliability and economy at that time (1970-1980). TU-154 has been the backbone of Russia and Soviet Union's air transport system for the past 25 years. TU-154 are used widespread in Soviet Union and China and also in Eastern Europe. Tu-154 first flew on October 1968. The first production delivered to Aeroflot in 1971 and in service in 1972.
      TU-154M was derives from TU-154 , the major change was more economical, engines are more quieter and reliable ,Soloviev turbofans . TU-154M first flew in 1982 and in service in 1984. The   M   indicated Modernisation and was sold to chinese airline in August 1986 .There was 935 units of TU-154 series were built and approximately 530 remain in service in Russia.
